For you it is just a door.

There’s millions like it out there. It doesn’t mean anything to you. It’s just something you paid for, you own. It’s a meaningless part of something bigger that you paid for and own. It’s just A door, replaceable.

But for me, it’s THE door. The door that let’s me in to safety. The door that secures that safety. The door that protects the people and things I value when I’m not present. The fact that I didn’t pay for it and therefore can’t claim ownership, hurts. Because this door owns me — parts of me anyway. Small but important parts of me.

And that is why to me it’s more than just a door.

It’s home.
